UNDERSTANDING HER WORLDAbout FOXG1 Syndrome
My daughter was born with FOXG1 syndrome, a rare genetic neurodevelopmental condition caused by a change in the FOXG1 gene, which plays an important role in the brain's early development.
The syndrome can affect a child's ability to sit, move, speak, eat and swallow. It may also involve epilepsy, significant developmental delays and complex care needs. For my daughter, these challenges shape many parts of everyday life.

From her earliest years, our journey has been filled with hospital visits, medical procedures, treatments and equipment. Along the way, I learned to notice the smallest details that others might never see.
I thought I would be the one teaching my daughter how to face life. Instead, she taught me how to truly live it.
She taught me the meaning of strength and the value of every small achievement. With her, I learned patience, unconditional love, and to see the world with more compassion and acceptance of differences.
